Britney Spears is baffled and bemused by a property millionaire’s bizarre claims he’s engaged to the pop superstar.

Just weeks after the supposedly-single singer was romantically linked with a dancer on her Circus comeback tour, 40-year-old land developer John Sundahl claims he has been dating Spears on and off since they met in rehab in 2007, and the pair is planning a spring wedding in Germany.

The story originates from an interview Sundahl’s personal pilot Lance Chase gave to the National Enquirer.

Chase told the tabloid, “Britney and John used to date, but they reconnected after her show in New Jersey, and now they’re engaged. He got down on one knee in a Subway sandwich shop in Santa Monica (California) a week ago and proposed with a $4.5 million (?3 million) marquise-cut diamond. They plan on getting married at his aunt’s farm in Germany in six weeks.”

When approached by the New York Daily News to verify the story, Sundahl backed it up, saying, “Britney doesn’t want to do anything until the tour is over. She wants press for her tour and not for an engagement.”

Ridiculing Sundahl’s claims, her representative tells the newspaper, “Britney is not engaged. She did not get proposed to at Subway – she is currently on tour – she is not getting married on a farm in Germany. Oh, and she has not been abducted by aliens.”

But the wedding plans are news to Spears, who divorced second husband Kevin Federline in 2007.

Will the show go on?

Britney Spears’s father has been seeking permission from a judge to expand the pop star’s current Circus tour – but the dour economy may hamper those plans, it was revealed in a Los Angeles courtroom Tuesday.

The pop star, 27, is halfway into a 49-show tour through the U.S., Canada and the UK, with hopes to add more dates through Europe, Australia and a possible second U.S. tour.

“It hasn’t yet been determined whether it’s feasible to expand tours to the Europe or Australia legs,” L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz said following a closed-door discussion with Jamie and his lawyers.

“That will be determined in the future after everyone’s seen the analysis, in terms of the economy and value of the dollar,” Goetz added.

Jamie and another lawyer hold indefinite legal control over his daughter following her two forced hospitalizations last year.

“Britney’s loving being onstage again,” says a source close to the singer. “Health-wise, she’s progressing every week, it’s amazing. Britney was the single force for wanting to go on tour in the first place.”

Britney Spears treated her Circus dancers to an Easter brunch.

The group — including Spears’ tour crush Chase Benz (sitting to her left) — snacked on salad, chicken, veggies and fruit on the rooftop of the Hotel Valencia in San Jose, Calif. They had a “lovely time,” according her Web site.

See photos of Britney on tour!

A source tells Us Weekly that Spears has been flirting with Benz “a lot. Everyone on tour has noticed.”

Look back on Britney’s loves over the years.

Her father, Jamie, who remains coconservator of her estate, “isn’t happy about it, because the fact that he’s a backup dancer makes it feel like Kevin Federline all over again.”

But Benz’s mom, Diane, tells Us: “Chase is not dating Britney. He has a girlfriend. He is a good Christian.”

If Britney can perform a world tour, she should be able to testify in court, RIGHT?

Attorney Jon Eardley, a lawyer who claims Britney hired to help dissolve the conservatorship, is demanding Britney to appear at a trial in which Eardley has been accused of undermining Britney’s conservatorship, according to TMZ.com.

“In his legal papers, Eardley notes that Britney will be performing at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on April 16 and 17. He says if she’s well enough to perform, she’s well enough to testify on two points — did she authorize Eardley to take legal action on her behalf and did Eardley really cause her ‘substantial emotional distress.’”

Eardley reportedly told officials that Britney hired him in a call that “ended abruptly when the phone was apparently grabbed from her hand.”

Britney says in a voicemail left on January 21, 2009, at 12:29 a.m., that her father Jamie Spears has threatened to take her kids away from her, saying:

quote:

“Hi my name’s Britney Spears. I called you earlier. I’m calling again because I just wanted to make sure that during the process of eliminating the conservatorship that my father has threatened me several times, you know, he’ll take my children away.

I just want to be guaranteed that everything will be fine with the process of you guys taking care of everything that things will stay the same as far as my custodial time. That’s it, bye”

The judge must decide if Britney is “competent enough to testify” and if she is deemed stable enough to appear in court.

We all know Jamie Spears is DREADING this.

Let her speak!

Britney Spears tells fans she’s sorry for walking off the stage during a concert last night in Vancouver.

A statement posted on the pop star’s Web site explains why she had to delay the concert shortly after it began. “We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney’s set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue.”

Britney, currently in the middle of her latest “Circus” world tour, appeared on the circus-themed stage in front of excited fans at Vancouver’s GM Place around 8:17 p.m., according to the Vancouver Sun. But after performing a couple of songs she suddenly vanished, “leaving a chanting, swaying crowd calling for her return.” She reappeared about 30 minutes later and finished the concert.

The delay was explained to fans as occurring due to heavy smoke in the arena. A voice announced to the crowd, “The building is awfully smoky. It is uncomfortable for everyone on stage, including Ms. Spears. Please extinguish all cigarettes – this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage is cleared,” the Vancouver Sun said.

Sources say that the smoke was due to Marijuana and so therefore Britney couldn’t perform. Someone in the audition was smoking and it cover the whole arena.
