Britney Spears has described the death of Whitney Houston as “devastating”.

The singer admitted that she was huge fan of Houston and was shocked by the news of her death.

“I was the biggest fans of hers,” she told CNN at the Grammy Awards. “She influenced me so much growing up and it’s really devastating and shocking, really shocking.”

X Factor judge LA Reid added: “When you’re as good as Whitney, when you’re the gold standard of singing, you impress so many people, you influence so many people.

“There will be many, many singers from now who will be impacted and influenced by Whitney Houston.”

It was recently reported that fans of Houston have been urged by police to stay away from her funeral this weekend.

Britney Spears has reportedly put an end to a lawsuit that accused her of fraud and deceit. According to TMZ, the “Till the World Ends” singer has finally settled the suit filed by Brand Sense Partners, LLC, the beauty company that helped her to secure a perfume deal with Elizabeth Arden.

Words are, Britney has agreed to pay Brand Sense Partners. The gossip site claimed that the 30-year-old, who has gotten engaged to longtime boyfriend Jason Trawick in December 2011, paid the beauty company commissions for a period of years as well as a lump sum. The financial terms of the settlement, however, are being kept private.

Brand Sense Partners accused Britney and her father Jamie Spears of fraud, deceit and breach of contract back in 2011. The company filed their suit in Los Angeles Superior Court in March, claiming the father and daughter duo robbed it of its commission from “any and all products” the singer worked on with Elizabeth Arden, including her Radiance fragrance.

The “Hold It Against Me” hitmaker was also accused of making “a separate deal with Elizabeth Arden in a sneaky underhanded effort to circumvent and evade its obligations to Brand Sense.” Brand Sense also noted in its suit that Jamie was caught “red handed” acknowledging the deal, but then “complained that the commission was too high and said that Britney did not want to pay it.”

Britney Spears is not wasting any time. She announced her engagement over the holidays and rumor has it that she’s going to be tying the knot on Valentine’s Day.

Britney will reportedly get married on the Hawaiin island of Maui on February 14 in a small ceremony joined by her close friends and family. Both her boys will serve as ring bearers and Britney will wear an ivory dress.

A lot of people have been wondering what will happen with Britney’s conservator ship after she gets married. Well many are saying that the conservatorship may remain in places for Spears’ business affairs, but that she will regain control of her personal wealth.

Britney Spears looks like a lean, mean pop music machine in a new snapshot on the set of her recently-wrapped “Femme Fatale” tour.

In the upcoming issue of V magazine, Spears poses with her tour’s team, who she describes as “my second family.” Standing among her assorted managers, security guards and staff, Spears stuns in a pink tank top and black bandage skirt. The star traded in the frumpy Dr. Martens boots she wore on stage for high heels, leaving her looking longer and leaner that she has in years. Her new body is in thanks to trainer Derek DeGrazio, also pictured in the photo.

“I have worked with all of them for many, many years so it was fun to see them all together again on the first day of the tour,” Spears says of her staff in the accompanying article. “Everybody was catching up and telling all their fun stories from the past, laughing and just having a good time.”

But Spears clarifies that the group is able to get down to business. When asked about the biggest misconception of life on tour, she said, “That it’s a giant, nonstop, never-ending party. I mean, we do have a lot of fun backstage … but it’s mostly a large group of people working really, really hard to put on a great show for my fans.”

Spears also took a moment to reveal two mantras repeated over and over on the “Femme Fatale” tour: “You can’t make this (bleep) up” and “No surprises.”

It’s fitting that Spears refers to her team as “family,” as one former member of the flock will soon be her husband. Spears recently announced her engagement to former agent Jason Trawick, tweeting a photo of herself showing off a blingy diamond engagement ring.

Is someone bitter?

For 55 hours back in 2004, Britney Spears was married to Jason Alexander. The childhood pals said “I do” on a whim at The Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, only to have their union annulled less than three days later.

Last Friday, Us Weekly broke the news that Spears, 30, was engaged to beau of over two years Jason Trawick. While ex-hubby Kevin Federline told Australia’s TV Week magazine he was “really happy” for the mom of his two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, Alexander wasn’t exactly thrilled about the pop star’s big news.

“I know everyone wants me to be happy about this, but I am not,” Alexander, who is currently training for the World of MMA fighting competition, told Us exclusively. “I think it’s fake and I think people are afraid to say it.”

“If you look at all the pictures between them there is no connection,” he added. “They look like they are going through the motions. It seems like a answer to the court thing.” (The singer is currently under the conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears; Trawick once served as the star’s manager.)

“Sort of a nice way to sew it all up she marries her handler,” Alexander sniped. “That way she always has someone controlling her. It’s sort of sad.”

Kevin Federline couldn’t be happier for Britney Spears and Jason Trawick, HollywoodLife.com has learned exclusively from a source close to the 33-year-old former dancer.

“Kevin was made aware that the engagement was imminent and is totally okay with the situation,” the insider says. “He is happy for Britney and hopes for the best with her.”

Adds the source, “He was prepped for it. Victoria [his girlfriend] is thrilled for them too.”

Jason, 40, popped the question to Britney, 30, last night at his birthday party. The pop star is said to be debuting her engagement ring this evening to close family and friends.
